Dana Stiner, currently the principal at Pine Tree Elementary School in Kent, has been selected as the new executive director of Inclusive Education for the Kent School District. The appointment comes as the district continues to focus on expanding support for students with diverse learning needs.
Stiner brings over a decade of experience in educational leadership, with a strong emphasis on inclusive practices and special education services. During her time at Pine Tree Elementary, she implemented programs aimed at integrating students with disabilities into general education classrooms, a move that drew positive feedback from both staff and parents.
In her new role, Stiner will oversee the district's special education programs, behavioral health services, and initiatives designed to ensure equitable access to learning for all students. She will also work closely with teachers, families, and community partners to develop individualized education plans and improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
District officials expressed confidence in Stiner's ability to lead the Inclusive Education department, citing her collaborative approach and commitment to student success. Stiner is expected to assume her new position at the start of the next academic year, replacing the previous director who retired after more than two decades of service.
