The Purdue University Police Department has joined forces with the Center for Advocacy, Response and Education (CARE) to launch an initiative titled "Cover the Cruiser." This collaborative effort aims to support and raise awareness for survivors of sexual violence. The program encourages community engagement by inviting participants to decorate police vehicles with messages of support and empowerment.
"Cover the Cruiser" serves as a platform to foster dialogue about sexual assault and to promote resources available for those affected. By transforming police cruisers into canvases of hope, the initiative seeks to break the silence surrounding these critical issues and to create a more supportive environment for survivors.
The event will not only highlight the importance of advocacy but also strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community. Participants are encouraged to express their solidarity and contribute to a culture of respect and safety on campus. This initiative is a vital step in promoting awareness and support for those impacted by sexual violence.
