Feeding, walking, grooming, and more: these high school students are getting a hands-on opportunity to raise farm animals at a Camarillo campus. The on-campus farm serves as an innovative educational environment where students engage directly with various animals, learning essential skills that extend beyond traditional classroom settings.
Participants in the program are responsible for the daily care of animals, which includes feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health. This experiential learning approach not only teaches students about animal husbandry but also fosters responsibility, teamwork, and empathy.
The farm features a diverse range of animals, allowing students to explore different aspects of agriculture and animal science. By actively participating in the care of these animals, students gain valuable insights into the agricultural industry and develop a deeper appreciation for the work involved in sustainable farming practices.
This unique program is shaping the future of these students, equipping them with practical skills that could inspire future careers in agriculture, veterinary science, and environmental stewardship.
