Since its inception in 2016, the Community Counseling, Education, and Research Center (CCERC) has been a vital resource for mental health services across North Carolina. Under the leadership of Professor Marc Grimmett, the center not only offers essential counseling support to the community but also serves as a training ground for master’s students pursuing degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
The CCERC provides students with hands-on experience through practicums and internships, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. This dual mission enhances the quality of care available to clients while fostering the next generation of mental health professionals.
Recent testimonials from former clients highlight the profound impact that access to CCERC's services has had on their lives. These personal stories underscore the importance of mental health support and the center's commitment to making such services accessible to all, demonstrating the positive ripple effects of combining education with community service.
